Basic Resident and Non-Resident Fishing License Requirements for Tennessee Waters
Definition of Resident:
Person residing in the state and who has acquired a TN driver's license or State ID.
 
Definition of Non-Resident:
Person who has not qualified to be a resident. A TN driver's license is required to be considered for a resident license. Property ownership without a valid TN driver's license does not constitute residential status.
Age 12 & Under:
Does not require a fishing license.
 
Age 13 - 15:
Requires either a resident or non-resident junior license.
Resident Junior - $8.00
 
Non-Resident Junior - $9.00

(No Big Game) - $28.00
 
Non-Resident 3-day
(Fish Only) - $16.50
Non-Resident 10-day
(Fish Only) - $25.50
Non-Resident - Annual

IT IS A STATE REQUIREMENT TO PUT THE SOCIAL SECURITY IN THE SYSTEM WHEN FILING FOR THE LICENSE.THIS NUMBER DOESN'T APPEAR ON THE LICENSE AND IS NOT STORED ANYWHERE EXCEPT NASHVILLE.
